Our First Christmas… A Peek

This is our first Christmas in the our new home and I have to say that I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect Christmas. The decoration wasn’t grand, but I had the hubby home(for a change), plus there was the newest addition to our family; baby Ian and of course my other prince, Zion. Who could ask for more, right?



The hubby drew this scene on Zion’s chalkboard wall the night before Christmas.  Zion was thrilled to see it on Christmas morning! Also the hubby is the one who drew all the animals in the post about Zion’s playroom( I had a few queries about who the artist was).  He is the artist in the family.

Can you guess which stocking is mine? Next year, I hope to be more creative and make my own stockings.

Zion’s chalkboard wall

Zion’s play room is a working progress. I actually observe how he uses the space and then go from there with design ideas etc. I painted Zion’s chalkboard wall for him when I was 81/2 months pregnant. I also painted the adjoining walls an orange colour(no surprise there, right?). Anyway, I’ve always wanted to do a chalkboard wall and Zion’s love affair with doodling on the bare walls led me to paint one sooner than later.


For someone like me who loves instant gratification, it was no fun painting the chalkboard wall. I had to wait 24 hrs. before I could apply a second coat. In addition, you have to so call “chalk” the wall before using it or marks would still be visible even after erasing. The pic above shows the “chalked” wall.


We all enjoy having the chalkboard wall. Ironically too, Zion still uses the chalk to “decorate” the other walls. I guess that is what 2 year olds do.  Happy Tuesday everyone! XX

Functionalist Villa with Industrial & Vintage Style

Interior of this 1930´s house is a great example of how  the old and new could work well together. I especially like the industrial kitchen flourished with vintage elements  creating really special look, but the other areas of the house are sweet as well, living room with a classical functioalist round window and the staircase corner with black painted wood walls, cool!

Design Classics filled Carpenter Farm near Copenhagen

This beautiful old carpenter farm was rebuild by the cabinetmaker Hans-Christian Koch who is now live there with his family.

Inside of the house is simple, minimal yet very warm and cozy - in each room you can find some classical scandinavian design piece which always helps the place to shine.

Nicely Decorated Danish Apartment

White floors, walls and pops of colors supplied by some really cool design items - lovely place for sure.  Im also  happy to see midcentury dansih modern furniture combined with contemporary pieces - it works so good - looks so good

Grooving into Monday with Tangerine Tango!

Have you heard? Pantone’s colour choice for 2012 is called Tangerine Tango. Since I am obsessed with all variations of the colour orange, I am not complaining. Orange will always be an "in" colour for me! Yeah baby!:-) Have a groovy Monday everyone! XX

Beautifully Worn Out 1925 House in Österlen

Interior of this old hosue have tons of character -  on the first look it looks like  an abandoned place but  on a second you find that it is a  living place with nicely preserved worn out patine. The effect is really dominant in the whole place, you may argue that it can be a bit scary and depresive but the bathroom or "office" corner is just awesome!

Beautiful Snowy White Swedish Apartment

Well, this is another proof of how wonderful scandinavian real estaste agencies are! Not extremely big but beautiful, spacious, bright apartment with large doors and those gorgeous old stoves in almost every room including bedroom - can there be something better than falling asleep with a gentle sound of crackling fire in your ears? Really amazing place!

1961 "Sugar Cube" House near Malmö

Christmas season is really bussy for my shop so I did not posted anything here for quite a long time - sorry readers.
I found this nice house today and as I have a while I have to share it with you. It is a very nice 265sqm large house built in 1961.  As owners stated - fortunately, no one touched original walls  - so the house preserved its original dispositions.

I really like the airy feel of this place, it may be a too open for someone but  kids must love this:)   Kitchens traditional scandinavian B&W scheme is working very well here and there are Stig lindberg cups in the shelves plus clipper organic teas - just like in my house:)
